Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

When it comes to this course, there are many things that i things positively about and negatively about. One strength that i believe i will have this year, includes being able to complete the work on time every time. My Start to this year has definitely been very rocky overall for multiple reasons, however once settled i believe the work for this class, such as completing the blog everyday will not an issue. One challenge I believe i will suffer in this class includes, participation and engagement. Talking and participating in the class is something that i hate for many reasons, and this class (teacher) seems to be big on it.

If someone tried to understand you using only your race, what important things would that person miss? Describe at least three other parts of your cultural identity that help make you who you are.

That person would miss who I am as a person, and almost every single thing about my personal life. 3 other parts of an identity that make you who you are include, life experiences, values and beliefs, anda your social role.

Think about the different people, cultures, experiences, communities, interests, and traditions that have shaped who you are. What parts of your identity have had the greatest influence on the person you are today? Have you ever felt pressure to change, hide, or emphasize a part of yourself in order to fit in?

I believe my life experiences have had the greatest impact on who I am today and it also influences other parts of my identity such as my values and beliefs. The way I act and think are 99% because of what ive experienced in life. I have felt pressure to change, hide, or emphasize a part of myself in order to fit in before, but i never have or would. The only reason i ever felt pressure to change is because of what other people thought. Fitting in is something I dont care about to certain extent, definitely not enough to want to manipulate who i am.

Meaningful Family Tradition

Describe a meaningful family tradition unique to your culture and explain how it mirrors or contrasts with the cultural identity themes of expectations A meaningful tradition that my family has is going to sleep early everyday. In my house it is not normal to be noisy or talk to each other after 8-9pm.  This is a time when everyone should be focusing on themselves and making sure they are ready to have a good day tomorrow. This enforces the expectation that everyone in the household should be able to handle their own business and not cause any commotion.
