Do you think adult children should ask their parents to borrow money, or should they be expected to handle their financial problems on their own?

I think children should definitely be able to borrow money from their parents, but only if they are going to pay back the money and if there is a system around it. If a child asks you for money and you give it without expecting them to pay it back then that isn't borrowing, it is a gift. If a parent puts systems around it then it can teach the child valuable information about loans, payment plans, interest rates, etc. I believe children shouldn't have to deal with financial problems in the first place, so you definitely shouldn't expect them to handle financial problems on their own.
